It was proposed by Councillor M. Merrigan and seconded by Councillor C. Devlin and RESOLVED:

 

That the minutes of the meeting of Dún Laoghaire Area Committee (Housing, Economic Community and Cultural Development, Planning and Organisational Innovation & Infrastructure and Climate Change Business) meeting held on the 1st April 2019, be CONFIRMED and ADOPTED.

The following motion was proposed by Councillor M. Halpin and seconded by Councillor M. Merrigan.

 

“That this Committee agrees to review the operations of the Mounttown Community Facility in the light of the new development in Fitzgerald Park, the lack of Councillors on the board of the Facility, the closure of the Homework Club and the Oasis Project, and the very serious parking issues that are developing in Meadowlands and Fitzgerald Park”.

 

A discussion took place during which Ms. D. Lawson, Director of Community and Cultural Development, responded to members queries.

 

The report of the Chief Executive was ACCEPTED.

 

PLANNING BUSINESS

In accordance with the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act 2016 Section 8 (4) & (5), Mr. E. Duignan, Assistant Planner, provided a presentation of an SHD application at Roselawn and Aberdour, Stillorgan Road, Foxrock, Dublin 18, giving an opportunity to members to get clarity on the detail of the application, outlined details of the consultations that have taken place in relation to the proposed development under sections 5 (2) and 6 (5), and outlined details of the notice issued by the Board under section 6 (7).

 

A discussion took place during which Mr. E. Duignan and Mr. S. McDermott, Senior Executive Planner, Planning Department, responded to members queries.

 

A Summary of the Members views on the proposed development was AGREED and will be forwarded to An Bord Pleanála.

The following motion was proposed by Councillor D. Kingston and seconded by Councillor M. Merrigan.

 

“That this Area Committee calls on the Minister for Education to secure a site for the new Dun Laoghaire Educate Together National School as a matter of urgency.”

 

A discussion took place during which Coincillor D. Kingston requested that the letter also be sent to the Junior Minister for Education, Mary Mitchell-O’Connor.

 

The report of the Chief Executive was ACCEPTED.
