“That the Chief Executive provides a status update on the 2017 plans to convert the space above Park House, #66 Upper George's Street, Dún Laoghaire (Ref: PC/H/01/17) to provide 4 spacious social housing units in the heart of Dún Laoghaire Town and when we can expect work to commence on these soon to be much sought after and essential units.

“That this Committee discuss the situation with Irish Water and the West Pier Traveller Accommodation, calling on the Executive to provide the latest information by IW regarding the future of the site and it’s implications.”

Co-Operative Housing Projects, Loughlinstown Drive

“That the Chief Executive report on the co-operative housing projects proposed at Loughlinstown Drive, to include if all matters have been agreed and signed off on. That the Area Committee are concerned at the protracted delays and that a date be set with the contractor for commencement of works.”

Glasthule Buildings

“That the Chief Executive supplies a copy of the report undertaken by the Council's Architects Department in June 2019 in response to our April 2019 motion seeking a feasibility study about installing elevators into Glasthule Buildings in order to make the units there accessible to all residents on all levels of the complex and to state whether central Government funding or other type grants have been sought for this project and if not, why not.”

“That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to work with (names supplied) and their group who wish to set up an Alano Club in the administrative area of this Committee, that would provide alcohol and drug free meeting and recreational space for those suffering from addiction.”

PLANNING BUSINESS

15.

Strategic Housing Developments

In accordance with the Planning and Development (Housing) and Residential Tenancies Act 2016 Section 8 (4) & (5) (http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/2016/act/17/enacted/en/html), any Strategic Housing Development (SHD) applications notified to the planning authority by An Bórd Pleanála (ABP) shall be covered under this item. Representatives of the Planning Department will inform the members of the following

 

a)    The details of the application

b)    The details of relevant pre planning consultations that have taken place with the Planning Authority and tripartite meetings with An Bórd Pleanála (ABP).

c)    Details of ABP’s opinion issued on foot of the tripartite meeting.

d)    Where the meeting takes place after the 5 week submission period; a summary of the points raised in the observations received by the Bórd and where the Chief Executive has formed a view of the effects of the proposed development on the proper planning and sustainable development of the area, such views.

 

Subsequent to the above presentation, 

 

·         An opportunity is provided to the members to get clarity on the detail of the application presented

 

Finally, representatives of the Planning Department will then record a summary of the expressed views of the elected members on the proposed development, to be included in the CE’s report to be submitted to An Bórd Pleanála.
