It was PROPOSED by Councillor Michael Merrigan that the Minutes of the Meeting of the Dún Laoghaire (Municipal Services) Area Committee Meeting held on 28th May 2018 be amended as follows:

 

DLMUN/286/18: the last line of this item to read:

 

The motion was AGREED and the report of the Senior Executive Officer, Municipal Services, was CONSIDERED and AGREED.

 

 

It was requested by Councillor Michael Merrigan that there be consistency in the recording of Minutes of the terms “AGREED”, “ACCEPTED”, “APPROVED” for ease of reference in future.

 

It was proposed by Councillor Denis O’Callaghan, seconded by Councillor Shane O’Brien and AGREED that the Minutes of the Meeting of the Dún Laoghaire (Municipal Services) Area Committee Meeting held on 28th May 2018 be ADOPTED and APPROVED as amended.

An amendment to this Headed Item was proposed by Councillor Cormac Devlin and seconded by Councillor Barry Ward:

 

“That this Area Committee agrees, under Term & Condition #8 (the Transfer shall be subject to such covenants, conditions, exceptions and reservations as the Council may require), requests the Co-operative Housing Ireland Society Ltd.  to increase the height of the existing boundary wall of the land at Loughlinstown Wood to be increased to the maximum height of 10ft in all locations in order to protect existing residential privacy.”

 

It was AGREED to amend the text of the above Amendment from “Term & Condition #8” to “Term & Condition #7”.

 

A vote was taken on the Amendment which was DEFEATED 12/6.

 

An amendment to this Headed Item was proposed by Councillor Jim Gildea and seconded by Councillors Barry Ward and Patricia Stewart:

 

“That this Area Committee recommends to the Council that no disposal of the Council’s Freehold Interest in an Area of Land at Loughlinstown Wood to Co-operative Housing Ireland Society Limited, take place until such time as agreement is reached between the County Council and Co-operative Housing Ireland Society Limitedthat no through road is permitted on the site.  It is noted that it may be necessary for Co-operative Housing Ireland Society Limitedto seek planning permission for this change.”

 

A vote was taken on the Amendment which was DEFEATED 13/5. 

 

An amendment to this Headed Item was proposed by Councillor Cormac Devlin:

 

“That this Area Committee agrees, under Term & Condition #7 (the Transfer shall be subject to such covenants, conditions, exceptions and reservations as the Council may require), requests the Executive to examine changing the proposed through road between Loughlinstown Wood and Cois Cualann to a cycle and pedestrian route only (with emergency vehicular access only) so that it reduces the need for a through road.”

 

This Amendment was NOT REACHED.
