“That this Committee call for upgrade works at the entrance to Glendruid estate to allow for increased safety for children living in the estate given the high volume of traffic on the adjacent Shanganagh Road and given the potential risk which currently exist with the current layout of estate and entrance.”

“That this Committee requests consideration of the installation of a mini roundabout on Carysfort Avenue at the Avondale Lawn/Carysfort Avenue junction with a view to reducing speed on Carysfort Avenue and providing some traffic islands on Carysfort Avenue which would aid pedestrians who wish to cross at this junction.”

“That this Area Committee agrees to write to the Chief Executive of Irish Rail requesting A) an up-date and B) If necessary, a meeting about progress made by Irish Rail on An Garda Síochána's Crime Prevention Report detailing the Shankill DART station and the surrounding area which was submitted to Irish Rail by An Garda Síochána in April 2018? Finally, that this letter is sent forthwith and prior to the adoption of the next Area Committee meeting.”

“That the Chief Executive give a commitment that no further removal of car parking (Pay and Display) bays will take place along Corrig Road, Dalkey without prior consultation with the residents of the road? This assurance is required because the present number of space is just about enough and any further removal of spaces by the Council would cause enormous parking difficulties for local residents, especially those with no off-street parking.”

“That, in the event of the Chief Executive receiving a proposal from the government to re-commission the Ferry Terminal at Dún Laoghaire Harbour as a Ferry port to cater commercial traffic in a Brexit arrangement that requires customs checks on lorries entering or leaving the State, that a Special Meeting of this Area Committee shall be convened to consider the general impact of such proposals on the Town of Dún Laoghaire and the access routes to and from the Harbour.”

“That, the Chief Executive explore the possibility of establishing a weekly “Litter Black Spots Patrol” to tackle illegal dumping in the laneways in Dún Laoghaire Town and to regularly check on the levels of litter in “black spots” such as Convent Road and other areas that are particularly badly littered, especially by litter from vehicles, and also to explore the possibility of extending such “Litter Black Spots Patrol” to cover areas along the seafront, including Seapoint, Sandycove and the Forty Foot, during the summer months.”

 

It was agreed that this Item would be discussed with Item 42, 43, 46 and 49.

“That this Area Committee instruct the Chief Executive to carry out whatever drainage works are necessary to prevent flooding on Seafield Road, Killiney. Due to the topology of the area, rain water from surrounding areas accumulates on Seafield Road. The current surface water drainage pipes are insufficient to deal with the volume of water during periods of heavy rain. It is further agreed that the work should be carried out without undue delay.”
