Motion from the Floor The Chairperson advised of the following Motion from the Floor PROPOSED by Councillor. C. Devlin and SECONDED by Councillor M. Clark.
“That the Dun Laoghaire Area Committee agrees to suspend standing orders and requests, in light of the vandalism of the club house and equipment belonging to Sallynoggin Pearse Celtic Football Club, that the Manager immediately arranges a meeting between Council officials and members of the Sallynoggin Pearse Celtic Football Club in order to discuss and progress issues surrounding their future club house and playing facilities and that a report is brought back as a headed item to the next Area Committee meeting”.
It was PROPOSED by Councillor B. Ward and AGREED by the Members that Standing Orders were to be suspended so that this motion should be taken along with Item 16 which covers the same area.

ACCESS ROAD TO SHANGANAGH CEMETERY It was PROPOSED by Councillor J Gildea and SECONDED by Councillor C. Smyth
“That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to have a footpath installed on the northern side of the access road to Shanganagh Cemetery, and that this work should be carried out as soon as possible and should not wait the adoption or otherwise of the Shanganagh Park Master Plan.”
The report of the Senior Executive Parks Superintendent was ACCEPTED and the Motion was AGREED.

“That this Committee agrees to give Pearse Rovers the 20 foot container they were promised over a year ago as an interim measure while awaiting their clubhouse, as their current container is leaking.”
It was AGREED to discuss this Motion alongside the Motion from the Floor already submitted to the Chairperson.

GLENAVON PARK, BALLYBRACK It was PROPOSED by Councillor D. O’Callaghan and SECONDED by Councillor C. Smyth
“That this Area Committee expresses concern at the gathering of groups of young persons, especially at night-time, at a location along a low wall fronting onto Glenavon Park, Ballybrack near the Old Wyattville Road, causing nuisance and annoyance to residents by engaging in anti-social behaviour.
Agrees that the low wall is contributing
greatly to these gatherings and consideration be now given to
raising it to a height which would discourage sitting on it.
The report of the Senior Engineer, Road Maintenance, Public Lighting and Cleansing was ACCEPTED and the Motion was AGREED.

MAINTENANCE AROUND WYATTVILLE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY & OAKTON PARK It was PROPOSED by Councillor M. Clark and SECONDED by Councillor C. Smyth
“That this Committee requests the Chief Executive to devise a work programme to prune, tidy-up and maintain the buffer zone between the Wyattville Dual Carriageway and Oakton Park, Ballybrack. The walk/cycle way has become very overgrown, un-kept and the surface un-even and un-safe, while the hedges, shrubs and railings require maintenance and up-grading. Please give details of proposed works to bring this area up to the same standard as across the road (at Ashlawn) and provide a timeframe for same?”

KILLINEY BEACH WATER QUALITY It was PROPOSED by Councillor C. Smyth and SECONDED by Councillor D. O’Callaghan
“That the Chief Executive report on the progress been made collaboratively between the Council, Irish Water, EPA and others to find the causes of the change of water quality at Killiney Bay in 2016 and what measures are been taken to improve the water quality so Killiney Beach will qualify for a Blue Flag as soon as possible.”

ROAD RESURFACING, KILLINEY AVENUE It was PROPOSED by Councillor M. Clark and SECONDED by Councillor J. Gildea
“That the Chief Executive commits to examining the cul de sac within Killiney Avenue with a view to resurfacing it as there are large sections (including the edges of the road) as well as certain sections of the footpaths that are in urgent need of repair.”

ENHANCEMENT OF KILLINEY BEACH It was PROPOSED by Councillor C. Smyth and SECONDED by Councillor D. O’Callaghan
“That the Chief Executive bring a report on the enhancement of Killiney Beach to include maintenance of toilets, maintenance of car park, maintenance of all entrances, improved access to Killiney Beach including for prams, wheelchairs and people with mobility difficulties at the Killiney Beach/DART Car Park, detailed signage at all entrances, maintenance of the beach and green areas on the beach.”
Following a discussion the report of the Senior Executive Engineer, Municipal Services Department, was ACCEPTED and the Motion was AGREED.
