Also to report on the first phase of public consultation now completed.”

“That the Chief Executive assess the feasibility of a pedestrian crossing over Old Dun Laoghaire Road at its junction with Longford Terrace - and report back to a future area meeting.

This place has high demand from pedestrians crossing for the commercial premises, service station and DART station. The road is hazardous at this location.”

“That the Chief Executive provide a drop off space such as “kiss and drop” at Killiney and Glenageary DART Stations.

The Senior Executive Engineer indicated he would examine both locations for possible set down options.

NO RIGHT TURN ON TO STONEBRIDGE ROAD pdf icon PDF 165 KB

It was PROPOSED by Councillor J. Gildea and SECONDED by Councillor M. Baker

 

“That this Area Committee recommends to the Traffic Advisory Group (TAG) that No Right Turn should be allowed on to Stonebridge Road from Bray Road/Dublin Road between the hours of 16:30 and 18:30 Monday to Friday.”

 

A discussion took place, during which the Senior Executive Engineer, Traffic & Road Safety Section, responded to Members queries.

 

The Motion was not agreed by the Members so a vote was requested, the results of which are as follows:

"That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to take steps to either implement the cycle and pedestrian up-grade planned for Stillorgan Park Road, or, as a matter of urgency, deal with the uneven footpaths on this route in the interim."

“That the Chief Executive prepare a report for the full Council to change the hours of operation of the Rock Road bus lane to Monday-Sunday 24 hours, from Monday-Saturday 0700-1900, the intention is to improve safety for cyclists who share the bus lanes before dawn and after dusk.”

“That the Chief Executive include the cycle lane from Wyattville Dual Carriageway to Shanganagh Road through Loughlinstown Linear Park in the Loughlinstown to Deansgrange Greenway Cycle Route/leaflet and include in the reply the inclusion of this cycle lane on the Cycle Lane Sweeping Schedule and improve access/exit.”

 

The Report of the Senior Executive Engineer was NOTED and it was AGREED to RE-ENTER this motion to the next meeting of the Dun Laoghaire Area Committee Municipal Services.

“That this Area Committee agrees that, in conjunction with Loughlinstown Estate Forum, a deep clean of and an enhancement project for the areas associated with Maple Ave Housing Estate. To include removal of weeds along road verges and cobblelock, the placing of flower tubs at suitable locations along the frontage to be hosted and maintained by residents and Estate Forum, and more regular road sweeping of the area.”
