VEHICLE ACCESS TO NEWTOWNSMITH

“That the Chief Executive arrange for Council vehicle access to Newtownsmith via the existing paved path, rather than across the grass, as the area is being disfigured with tyre tracks. This may necessitate installation of a removable bollard.”

6.

ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN GRANADA PARK

"That the Chief Executive give consideration to measures to deter anti-social behaviour in the environs of "Granada Park" area in Foxrock/Blackrock, specifically the playground located next to Newtownpark Tennis Club there and the new entrance to the back of Deansgrange Cemetery at New Park Avenue, as there have been numerous recent incidents at these locations."

7.

ISSUES IN KILBOGGET PARK

“That this Committee recognises the value to the surrounding community that Kilbogget Park offers and notes the following difficulties that need the immediate attention of the Council and calls on management to provide the necessary solutions to these issues:

 

-          The recent escalation of anti-social behaviour in the Park which has caused considerable damage to sporting amenities and calls for the examination of the following and calls for possible changes that can be made to help prevent and alleviate such activity:  The narrowing or alteration to entrance points into the park , any existing security cameras and the possibility of appropriately positioned new cameras and any other security provision that is available in other parks that could also be used in Kilbogget to deter such destructive behaviour.”

REPORT ON ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN KILBOGGET PARK

“That the Chief Executive report on recent anti-social behaviour in Kilbogget Park and to outline what additional measures can be put in place to prevent further similar type incidents occurring in the Park.”

9.

LEAF MOULD COMPOUND AT SHANGANAGH PARK

“That this Committee requests the Chief Executive to create a leaf mould compound, on a trial basis, on the unused plot opposite the bring centre at Shanganagh Park.”

10.

REVIEW OF PLAYGROUND IN KILBOGGET PARK

That this Committee recognises the value to the surrounding community that Kilbogget Park offers and notes the following difficulties that need the immediate attention of the Council and calls on management to provide the necessary solutions to these issues:”

 

-          The review of the condition of the playground and improvements that can be made given the high demand and usage of the playground and its equipment.”

11.

CHANGING FACILITIES AT STONEBRIDGE PARK

“That this Area Committee agrees it is now untenable that to date changing facilities at Stonebridge Park, Shankill have not been installed, given the numbers who use the pitches, and that priority now be given to sourcing a level of funding to ensure this facility is built without any further delay.”

CYCLE LANE FROM WYATVILLE TO SHANGANAGH ROAD

“That the Chief Executive include the cycle lane from Wyattville Dual Carriageway to Shanganagh Road through Loughlinstown Linear Park in the Loughlinstown to Deansgrange Greenway Cycle Route/leaflet and include in the reply the inclusion of this cycle lane on the Cycle Lane Sweeping Schedule and improve access/exit.”

TRAFFIC WARDEN AT BOOTERSTOWN N.S.

“That the Chief Executive agrees to provide a traffic warden at the crossing at Booterstown National School on Cross Avenue, as well as reassessing the parking in the area to allow for safer crossing of the school children.”

17.

NEW PARKING LIMIT IN SHANKILL VILLAGE

“That this Area Committee asks the Chief Executive to bring a request to the Traffic Action Group to introduce a two hour parking limit in Shankill village between 08:00 and 17:00 hours Monday to Saturday.”

18.

LIGHTS SEQUENCE/ROAD WIDTH MARINE ROAD

“That the Chief Executive reports on the issues of lights sequence and/or road width on the top of Marine Road.

There are two lanes at the lights, but they are so narrow that two commercial vehicles, and certainly two buses, cannot line up beside each other.

For example of a current issue; if a number 7 bus in the left lane and a 46A in the right, and the light changes from red it first gives a green filter for the left-hand lane, but the traffic in that lane is frequently blocked until the right-hand lane gets its filter and both lanes can move forward.

Are there any solutions to this issue? Can the road be widened by a metre – the pavement is wide enough – and as more of an immediate response to alter the sequence of lights.”

TRIAL 'SCHOOL STREETS' INITIATIVE IN HOLLY PARK

“That the Chief Executive to trial the 'School Streets' Initiative around the schools in Holly Park, in order to reduce congestion, unsafe parking and blocking of footpaths, road safety risks due to vehicular movements, children being exposed to excess air pollution, and car-dependent children being less physically active.”

REVIEW OF JUNCTION AT JOHNSTOWN ROAD AND N11

“That the Chief Executive conducts a review of the signalised junction at the top of Johnstown Road & N11 because local residents report that there is consistent traffic jams at this location on a regular basis not just during peak hour.”

TRAFFIC REVIEW ST. BEGNET'S VILLAS

“That this Committee agrees to review the traffic in St Begnet's Villas, with a view to reducing the speed limit and slowing the cars down in the Villas.”

“That the Chief Executive in conjunction with the National Transport Authority consider relocating the bus stops at the junction of Corke Abbey Avenue/Dublin Road/Old Connaught Avenue to the Bray side of the junction.”

“That this Committee discuss the possibility of pedestrianisation of Blackrock Village.”

TRAFFIC CALMING AT CROSS AVENUE

"That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to implement traffic calming and road safety measures on Cross Avenue, Blackrock, specifically, but not limited to, a signalised pedestrian crossing between the church of St. Philip and James and the back entrance of Blackrock College where there is significant pedestrian traffic at certain times of the day and a substantial danger to children arises from fast flowing traffic."
