“To ask the Chief Executive for a progress report on the Council’s acquisition of Shanganagh Castle and grounds in Shankill”

“To ask the Chief Executive to consider purchasing the old Western Marine site at Bulloch Harbour in the interest of developing it as a public amenity?”

“To ask the Chief Executive, noting the reply to Agenda Item 16 of April 3rd 2017, to provide an update on the contacts, if any, since then with the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Michael’s, Dún Laoghaire, in respect of Agenda Item 14 of May 4th 2016 and Agenda Item 12 of November 7th 2016 - see below:

“To ask the Chief Executive to confirm whether the area adjacent to the EBS Building Society and St. Michael's Church at the junction of Lower George’s Street and Marine Road in Dún Laoghaire is in Council ownership and, if so, whether there are any plans to up-grade this area of the public realm with the possible planting of trees, shrubbery or flowers and the provision of appropriate public seating?”

And, noting the reply received on November 28th 2016 to the letter sent to the Parish Priest on October 25th 2016 and given the apparent lack of clarity in respect of the ownership of this small publicly accessible area (see: Agenda Item 9 of December 5th 2016) whether the Chief Executive could arrange for an extensive title search to be undertaken by the Law Agent to ascertain ownership and thereby, responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of this area?”

“To ask the Chief Executive to provide a detailed report on the Council’s examination, if any, of two adjacent buildings on the northern side of Upper George’s Street, Dún Laoghaire, located between its junctions with Stoneview Place and Park Road, which appear to be in a state of dereliction and to confirm whether it is intended to enter any of these buildings on the Derelicts Sites Register and, if so, which ones?”

“To ask the Chief Executive to provide a detailed plan of the proposed upgrading of pedestrian facilities at the entrance of the Royal Marine Hotel on Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, as provided for in the Chief Executive’s Order ICCP032/2017 dated September 14th 2017 and resourced through Section 48 (2) (c) Special Levies?” 

“To ask the Chief Executive if any attempts have been made to acquire the old Eircom building in Meadowlands or if there has been any activity to develop the site?”

“That the Chief Executive to bring a report on the Blackrock Baths site to the January meeting, including a map of the site and details on title, ownership, boundary, development history and future potential, zoning, the Council’s stance and rights in relation to developing the area, how the designation of SAC and SPA would affect any development on the site, the possibility of acquiring the site as well as other issues brought up by Councillors during the course of the debate”

“To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report on the current procedure regarding persons who are on the housing waiting list and who reach the age of 55 years, and to outline the rationale for the current procedure?”

“To ask the Chief Executive to provide a list of the sites in Council ownership in the Dún Laoghaire LEA that have been examined, under consideration and/or considered appropriate for the provision of social housing as “in-fill” or “corner site” developments and the numbers of homes that could potentially be provided by such developments?”

“To ask the Chief Executive how many complaints of damp and mould have been received from council tenants living in Pearse Park Sallynoggin and does any plan exist to alleviate these issues?”

“To ask the Chief Executive to outline any Part 8 planning permissions with regards to housing which have been granted in this administrative area but where works are yet to begin?”

“To ask the Chief Executive to consider purchasing (address supplied) as it has been vacant for at least 2 years, has become overgrown and is frequently used as a dumping site?”

“That this Area Committee agrees that the Chief Executive  would now commence Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations as amended process, for the construction of a 5 Bay Halting Site at Pottery Road, as provided for in the agreed Traveller Accommodation Programme 2014-2018.”

“To ask the Chief Executive to provide an update on the following information supplied under Agenda Item 25 of April 3rd 2017:- “ Dlr LEO also recently developed a training course – Digital Transformation for Small Business – aimed specifically at traditional services, with a particular focus on retail. This will commence mid-May 2017. In addition to upskilling participant businesses in social media skills, there will be a focus in enabling them to apply for the Trading Online Voucher scheme, which offers qualifying companies a grant of €2,500 towards the cost of developing an on-line trading presence?”

  “To ask the Chief Executive to provide an update, if any, on the Motion below (Agenda Item 39 of May 4th 2016) which was unanimously AGREED by this Area Committee and given that work on a new Twinning Policy is nearing completion.

“That, this Area Committee, given the historic links between the communities of Dún Laoghaire and Caergybi/Holyhead and notwithstanding the current absence of a direct shipping service between the two ports, requests the Chief Executive to explore the business, tourism and community development potential of assisting and supporting the local voluntary community initiative known as the ‘Holyhead-Dún Laoghaire Link’ in maintaining and developing the social and business connections between these two ports.”

And, whether a brief report on the matter could be provided for presentation to the upcoming meeting of the Holyhead-Dún Laoghaire Link Association scheduled for November 17th and 18th 2017 in Holyhead Town Hall?”

“To ask the Chief Executive for a report on why PRISM DLR were refused a grant for their sibling support program?”

“That this Area Committee agrees that in keeping with the spirit of the Councils "age friendly" and "disability" policies the CEO would as a matter of urgency commence a dialogue with Senior Management in Irish Rail around the provision of adequate facilities including staffing to service the needs of the elderly and those with disabilities at all Dart Stations within the remit of this area committee, to include an invitation to Irish Rail to meet and address the members to further discuss these matters.”

“That, the Chief Executive invite the Chairperson and Chief Executive of BID DL Company Limited by Guarantee (CRO Reg. no. 533339) to make a comprehensive presentation to the December 2017 meeting of this Area Committee on the various achievements and the future plans of the Dún Laoghaire Business Improvement District Scheme.”
