“To ask the Chief Executive to confirm whether the area adjacent to the EBS Building Society and St. Michael's Church at the junction of Lower George’s Street and Marine Road in Dún Laoghaire is in Council ownership and, if so, whether there are any plans to up-grade this area of the public realm with the possible planting of trees, shrubbery or flowers and the provision of appropriate public seating?”
And, noting the reply received on November 28th 2016 to the letter sent to the Parish Priest on October 25th 2016 and given the apparent lack of clarity in respect of the ownership of this small publicly accessible area (see: Agenda Item 9 of December 5th 2016) whether the Chief Executive could arrange for an extensive title search to be undertaken by the Law Agent to ascertain ownership and thereby, responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of this area?” |

In addition to upskilling participant businesses in social media skills, there will be a focus in enabling them to apply for the Trading Online Voucher scheme, which offers qualifying companies a grant of €2,500 towards the cost of developing an on-line trading presence?”

“That, this Area Committee, given the historic links between the communities of Dún Laoghaire and Caergybi/Holyhead and notwithstanding the current absence of a direct shipping service between the two ports, requests the Chief Executive to explore the business, tourism and community development potential of assisting and supporting the local voluntary community initiative known as the ‘Holyhead-Dún Laoghaire Link’ in maintaining and developing the social and business connections between these two ports.”
