It was PROPOSED by Councillor John Bailey, SECONDED by Councillor Mary Hanafin and AGREED that the Minutes of the Meeting of the Dun Laoghaire Area Committee (Municipal Services) held on Monday 27^th February 2017 be CONFIRMED and ADOPTED.

It was PROPOSED by Councillor Marie Baker, SECONDED by Councillor Michael Merrigan and RESOLVED:-

That pursuant to Standing Order No. 110, Questions 2 to 9 be ADOPTED and APPROVED.

The Report of the Senior Executive Parks Superintendent was considered and AGREED.

It was NOTED that there was no business under this heading.

That pursuant to Standing Order No. 110, Question 12 to 21 be ADOPTED and APPROVED.

The Report of the Senior Executive Officer, Municipal Services was considered and AGREED.

The Report of the A/Senior Engineer, Traffic Section was NOTED.

Correspondence issued to NRA requesting discussion regarding noise pollution mitigation measures on western side of the M11 between Stonebridge Road and Crinken Lane.

Correspondence issued in respect of motion PASSED at DLAC (Municipal Services) Meeting dated 24^th October 2016

Traffic Signals junction of the N11 and Johnstown Road, Cabinteely  

It was proposed by Councillor J. Gildea and seconded by Councillor J Cuffe

“That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to review, as a matter of urgency, the operation of the traffic signals at the junction of the N11 and Johnstown Road, Cabinteely with a view to improving the flow of traffic through the junction, particularly road users exiting Johnstown Road and Shrewsbury Lawn. It is noted that, since the layout of the junction has changed, very considerable delays are being experienced by motorists.”

The report of the A/Senior Engineer, Traffic Section was ACCEPTED.

Bus Stop, Pottery Road  

It was proposed by Councillor D. Kingston and seconded by Councillor M Merrigan

“That this Area Committee supports the moving of a bus stop 7634 from Pottery Road to an earlier location on Johnston Road, and that the Committee will write to Dublin Bus to inform them of same.”

A show of hands vote was requested.  The result was as follows:

FOR:             15

AGAINST:       3.

It was agreed to write to Dublin Bus requesting clarification on the issues concerned.

The report of the A/Senior Engineer, Traffic Section was ACCEPTED.

Bus Shelters, Sally Glen Road

“That the Chief Executive writes to Dublin Bus and request they begin the process of providing bus shelters and real time information at the seven new bus stops on Sally Glen Road.”

Road Safety near Gaelscoil Phadraig Sheelin Avenue 

It was PROPOSED by Councillor J. Gildea and SECONDED by Councillor S. O’Brien

 “That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to take immediate action to improve road safety in the environs of Gaelscoil Phadraig, Ballybrack.”  

The report of the A/Senior Engineer, Traffic Section was considered and ACCEPTED.

Junction at Killiney Hill Road and Military Road

“That the Chief Executive in conjunction with An Garda Siochána address the issue of motorists ignoring the “STOP” signs at the four way STOP junction at Killiney Hill Road/Military Road junction.”

The Motion was RE-ENTERED.

It was proposed by Councillor Cormac Devlin, seconded by Councillor Barry Ward and resolved:-

“That pursuant to Standing Order No 110, Questions 30 to 42 be ADOPTED and APPROVED.”

It was proposed by Councillor Michael Merrigan and seconded by Councillor Patricia Stewart.
