“That the Chief Executive establishes a “pilot scheme” based on the following Motion that was AGREED by this Area Committee on October 28th 2015 (Item 412) and to do so initially for the Dún Laoghaire LEA in conjunction with Residents’ Associations affiliated to the PPN and to have such as an on-line facility via the Council’s website”. DLAC/MUN/412 “That the Chief Executive explores the potential afforded by the presence of so many active voluntary and community groups in the Dún Laoghaire Local Electoral Area which could enable the Council to conduct a comprehensive on-line survey of the public realm, especially in relation to obsolete signage, redundant poles, damaged street furniture and abandoned houses and to initiate a public awareness campaign on this issue and to encourage further entries into the Annual Tidy Districts Competition.”

Councillor M. Halpin It was proposed by Councillor Melisa Halpin and seconded by Councillor Michael Merrigan that:-
“That this Area Committee agrees to put in place a system for ensuring, that over the summer and good weather period, the bins along the seafront and in the parks are emptied in advance of the weekends and that extra collections are done on Saturday or Sunday if necessary to ensure that scenes like that shown in (photo supplied) are not repeated?”
A discussion followed in which Councillor Melisa Halpin noted that the photo submitted was missing. It was stated that a concrete plan for the periods outlined was necessary in order to ensure that the bins don’t overflow.

“That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to investigate what measures can be taken to facilitate the free flow of traffic at the junction of Stonebridge Road/Bray Road (Dublin Road) Shankill? Two schools are located on Stonebridge Road. This gives rise to a high volume of traffic turning right on to Stonebridge Road from Bray Road at peak traffic times in the morning and to a lesser degree in the afternoon.”
