“To ask the Chief Executive to have both sides of the footpaths on Woodbine Road inspected with a view to making any necessary repairs? Currently there are a number of areas with temporary repairs done with asphalt as well as a number of broken sections. When will these works take place?”

There is a great deal of activity in these areas on account of traffic to the national school, including bicycles, tricycles, scooters, pedestrians and cars and serious deterioration of the surface?”

“To ask the Chief Executive to prioritise the resurfacing of Shanganagh Terrace, Killiney Hill Road in 2018 as this road is in a very poor condition and despite some temporary repairs being carried out over the years, no permanent repairs have taken place and giving a timeframe for same?”

Please state when these repairs will be carried out?”

“To ask the Chief Executive to provide an update on Agenda Item 36 (DLAC/MUN/197) of April 24th 2017, a Motion that was AGREED unanimously, regarding the naming of the two Council owned laneways running parallel to Patrick Street as “East Lane” and “West Lane” which, according to the Report, was “considered practical and would assist with regard to the general administration of the area” and to state when the signs will be erected?”

That this Council affirms the names of the following public roads in Booterstown:

(a) between Woodbine Road and Seafield Close, as Glenomena Park, or Páirc Ghleann na Mná in the Irish language; and

(b) off the north-east side of Glenomena Park, between Woodbine Avenue and Seafield Close, as Glenomena Grove, or Garrán Ghleann na Mná in the Irish language."

“That the Chief Executive report on the following in relation to the public lighting  provision on Avoca Avenue, section between the crossroads with Grove Avenue and the junction with Avoca Park:-

1. Survey the level of lighting as currently there are many areas that are in the darkness.

2. These areas of darkness can be very dangerous for cyclists as drivers only see them in the brighter areas.

3. What improvements can be made to improve the overall lighting provision?

4. When will the improvements be put in place.”

“That this Committee agrees to commit the required resources to provide beach wheelchairs on Killiney beach before the start of summer 2018 at the very latest.”

“That the Chief Executive makes arrangements to take in charge the laneway/path to the rear of (addresses supplied), and can she arrange to have this laneway/path cleaned up in the short term. It is noted that all the other laneways/path in the estate are maintained on a regular basis by this Council and that public lighting is in place in all the laneways/paths, including the one listed above. It is further noted that all public utility services to these houses are provided underneath this laneway/path and that the utility companies are now refusing to carry out repairs as the laneway/path is impassable”

“That the Chief Executive examine ways of making safer the footpath on Marine Road Dún Laoghaire which crosses the routes in and out of the Royal Marine Hotel and the Dún Laoghaire Shopping Centre car park. Pedestrians are very vulnerable at this crossing of these major exits and entrances in one long stretch with no road makings or other protection.”

“That the Chief Executive examine amalgamating the existing pedestrian crossing (near Belgrave Square East) on Monkstown Road and incorporate it into a new set of traffic lights at the entrance to Monkstown Valley in order to make it easier for residents of Monkstown Valley exiting the estate as their visibility is very poor for oncoming traffic coming up from Monkstown Village.”

“That the Chief Executive upgrade the signalised junction at Corke Abbey Avenue/Dublin Road/Old Connaught Avenue especially the pedestrian crossings as currently not all four crossings facilitate pedestrians and the new primary and secondary schools will be opening shortly.”

“That, the Chief Executive, in the interest of public safety and proper traffic management, examine what alternative layout of the junction of Convent Road and Convent Lane in Dún Laoghaire could deter and prevent traffic exiting Convent Lane and illegally turning right up Convent Road against the one-way system to access Lynch Lane and to bring forward proposals for same.”

“That DLR Traffic Department examines the possibility of providing a signalised pedestrian crossing across Glenageary Road Upper in the vicinity of Glenageary Park as there are many school students crossing this road.”

“That, the Chief Executive to return the use of the pavement and parking on Monkstown Crescent before the end of October and to suspend any stop/go traffic controls and any remaining disruptive work during the months of November and December to allow for businesses in the area, already badly hit by the works, to maintain their traditional pre-Christmas trade.”
